What is raw honey?

Raw honey is honey that is only strained to remove wax and comb. It is not heated to high temperatures or ultra-filtered, so it keeps its natural pollen, enzymes, aroma and flavour. Every TORISTO honey is 100% raw with no added sugar.

Why does raw honey crystallise, and is it still pure?

Crystallisation is natural. Raw honey contains glucose that slowly forms crystals, especially in cool weather. It is not a sign of adulteration. Stand the closed jar in warm (not boiling) water to make it runny again.

How can I check if honey is pure?

Home tests like the water or thumb test are not reliable. Purity is confirmed in a lab against the FSSAI standards for honey. Ask us for the test report for your batch number, printed on every TORISTO jar.

Which TORISTO honey should I choose?

Acacia is pale, mild and floral, great in tea and for children. Multiflora is the golden everyday honey. Wild honey is dark, bold and woody, made by bees foraging forest flora. Ajwain honey has a warm, herbal edge and is a winter favourite in Indian homes.

Can babies have honey?

No. Doctors advise not giving honey of any kind to babies under 1 year old because of the risk of infant botulism. Honey is fine for children over 1 year.
